I’m sure you’ve seen a timetable at a bus stop like the one shown in Figure 9-4. Down the side, you have all the stops the bus makes and, each column shows a different bus that runs the same route. In the grid, you’ve got the time each bus is supposed to leave each stop.

Reading the time the bus or train is supposed to be at each stop is easy: you just read across from the name of the stop until you hit the time in the same column as the bus (or train) you’re interested in.

Timetable questions are very similar to all the other time questions: you just have the extra step at the beginning in which you find the times you’re interested in and then you work out the sum as normal.
